Does anyone know if there is a Vista driver available for the mentioned device? Thanks.

Sony CRX835C CD/RW DVD ROM Vista driver?
What indication are you getting that a driver is needed?
Please try to put the device info in the body of your post next time. That way we can just copy it and paste into Google to see if we can help you.
A search on the Sony site did not turn up a product. There is a crx85a and a crx85u.

In device manager it is called: Sony CD-RW CRX835C ATA Device. The General tab says: Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39). It was working under XP Home. I have a HP nc6120 notebook. However, the Driver tab shows a Microsoft driver, dated 6/12/2006, version 6.0.5384.4, signer Microsoft Windows Component Puplisher. The drivers you found are not the right ones. Update Driver didn't work, I've searched on my laptop and at Windows Update. I'm afraid it isn't ready yet.

I had the same problem with a Sony DRU540a DVD Burner. I deleted the drive and Vista installed it correctly the next time the machine was restarted. The listed order was different, but the drive letter was correct as it was in XP Pro .. "Hugh" wrote in message

I have the CRX510 and I used the XP software that came with the product, Veritas RecordNow. It seems to work ok.

Sorry, mine is external, I didn't figure out that you have an internal drive.

I've tried that too several times. I deleted it and then I scanned for new hardware. The drive is found but the message sounds: device driver software was not succesfully installed.
